The Moses Lake School District set two strategic goals this year, with one focusing on improving core math instruction across all grade levels. This work specifically targets closing the achievement gap in K-12 mathematics.
Mrs. Dalrymple shared “What is most important to me is building strong relationships with my students. My students will take the risks needed to learn and improve because they trust me. I use small group instruction and really focus on making math fun, but I also love math so I think that helps as well.”

Congratulations to Longview Elementary first grade teacher Donel Dalrymple. Mrs. Dalrymple is the first recipient of the Moses Lake School District Golden “You Rock” Award for achieving and continuing to meet the district strategic goal of improving math-core instruction. Mrs. Dalrymple is a leader in the use of our district’s new Ready Mathematics curriculum materials. Without a doubt, the number one difference maker for students to learn is an effective teacher like Mrs. Dalrymple. Her class’s current progress toward their annual typical growth has already exceeded 100%, and they have the highest percentage of growth in the district at 128%!
