Attendance and Family Services
Our Attendance and Family Services Department works directly with schools, students, and their families to break down barriers to school attendance. Washington state has a compulsory school attendance law, R.C.W. 28A.225, that requires school-age students are in school, full time, every day unless there is a valid excuse to be absent. When a student misses school, for any reason, it can be difficult to keep up academically.
