Dr. Joshua Meek
Dr. Meek has been a part of Moses Lake School District since 2004
Previous Positions: Moses Lake High School Assistant Principal, Moses Lake High School Principal, MLSD Assistant Superintendent.
Education: BA from Washington State University, M.Ed from Puget Sound University, Ed.D from Washington State University.
A few of Josh's duties: Strategic plan implementations, OSPI and ESD liaison, bond, levy, and construction planning and oversight, district media spokesperson and more.
Most memorable career achievement: Having the opportunity to serve in a variety of leadership roles within Moses Lake School District.
Fun Fact: Josh could easily max his credit card in the WSU Bookie!
Dr. Carole Meyer
Dr. Meyer has been a part of Moses Lake School District since 2017
Previous Positions: Special education teacher at Mead School District, Lewis and Clark High School counselor, Assistant Principal at Ferris and Mount Spokane High School, Principal at Havermale and Rogers High School.
Education: BA from Eastern Washington University, M.ED from Whitworth University, and her Ed.D from Washington State University
A few of Carole's duties: HR team supervision, staff recruitment and retention, new teacher orientation and mentoring, new principal mentoring.
Most memorable career achievement: Carole is most proud of the work she has done in her career to promote equity and provide access for underrepresented groups of students.
Fun Fact: Carole and Princess Diana were born on the same day and year, married around the same time, and her oldest son is the same age as Prince William!
Executive Director of Teaching and Learning
Mrs. Hofheins has been a part of Moses Lake School District since 1999
Previous Positions: Teacher at Highline School District, Teacher at Issaquah School District, Moses Lake High School Assistant Principal, Chief Moses Middle School Assistant Principal, Garden Heights Elementary Principal, Chief Moses Middle School Principal
Education: BA and MA degree from Central Washington University.
A few of Kristi's duties: Director of the K-12 curriculum, overseeing assessment and data warehousing, early and digital learning K-12 professional and staff development.
Chief Academic Officer of Regional Learning and Community #1: Moses Lake High School, Endeavor Middle School, North Elementary, Larson Heights Elementary.
Most memorable career achievement: The privilege she has had in being an administrator at all three levels of education, elementary, middle school, and high school.
Fun Fact: Kristi really hopes to see overalls make a comeback. The old school, baggy denim overalls!
Executive Director of Business and Operations
Mr. Johnson has been a part of Moses Lake School District since 2005
Previous Positions: Peninsula Elementary counselor, Larson Heights Elementary Principal, Park Orchard Elementary Principal.
Education: BA and M.Ed from Washington State University, additional certification from the University of Anchorage, Alaska.
A few of Eric's duties: Budgeting, legal counsel liaison, maintenance, food service team supervision, and more.
Chief Academic Officer of Regional Learning and Community #2: Chief Moses Middle School, Park Orchard Elementary, Garden Heights Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, and Sage Point Elementary.
Most memorable career achievement: The 2011 opening of Park Orchard Elementary, putting in behind the scene hours to create a wonderful culture for all staff and students.
Fun Fact: Eric has so many songs from the 80's and 90's completely memorized, he cannot pick one that is his favorite!
Executive Director of Student Support Services
Mr. Balcom has been a part of Moses Lake School District since 1997
Previous Positions: Chief Moses Middle School Principal, Moses Lake High School Principal.
Education: BA in Education and MA degree from Eastern Washington University.
A few of Dave's duties: AVID Director, oversees the skill center, safe and civil schools, Special Services, and lead liaison for homeless students.
Chief Academic Officer of Regional Learning and Community #3: Frontier Middle School, Columbia Basin Technical School, Peninsula Elementary, Midway Elementary, Knolls Vista Elementary, and Longview Elementary.
Most memorable career achievement: Dave was elected as the President of the State's Secondary Principals Association in 2007, and he is proud of the working relationships he has made within MLSD for 20 years.
Fun Fact: Dave has had both a "Double Eagle" and "Hole-in-one" in golf!
