Community Forum Launches Conversation on Future Elementary School
On January 26th, Moses Lake School District hosted a community forum focused on the future elementary school recommended to be built on the current North Elementary site. The event marked the first in a series of opportunities for families and community members to learn more about the recommendation and engage in conversation about the district’s long-term facilities planning.
The forum opened with a brief presentation led by local resident and Facilities Advisory Committee member Chuck Sutton. Sutton shared background on the committee’s work, including the data, discussions, and considerations that informed its recommendation.
Following the presentation, attendees participated in small-group conversations with Facilities Advisory Committee members. These discussions provided an opportunity for community members to ask questions, better understand the planning process, and learn more about next steps.
The forum was very well attended, reflecting strong community interest in the future of elementary education in Moses Lake. The district appreciates everyone who took the time to attend, listen, and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
This forum represents an important first step in an ongoing community conversation. Moses Lake School District looks forward to hosting additional forums as the project continues to move through the planning process and as opportunities for further community input are shared.
