DE LANE SELECTED TO LEAD KNOLLS VISTA ELEMENTARY

Moses Lake School District is pleased to announce Jason De Lane as the new principal of Knolls Vista Elementary School, beginning with the 2025–26 school year. DeLane succeeds Adam Sawyer, who has accepted a district leadership role as Assistant Executive Director of Safety and Wellbeing.
A veteran educator with broad experience across grade levels and student populations, De Lane brings more than a decade of teaching and leadership experience to Knolls Vista. Most recently, he served as both a mathematics teacher and principal designee at Paideia High School in Valley, Washington. De Lane has also taught mathematics, social studies and special education in Tennessee and Texas. De Lane is committed to academic growth and building a strong learning community at Knolls Vista.
“Knolls Vista is a place where relationships, trust, and high expectations go hand in hand,” said Superintendent Carol Lewis. “Jason De Lane embodies those values. He brings a strong commitment to student success and a collaborative leadership style that will resonate with staff, families, and the entire KV community.”
De Lane holds a Principal Certificate from Eastern Washington University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Edward’s University. His background in supporting multilingual learners through culturally responsive instruction emphasizes his commitment to creating an environment focused on student-centered leadership.
“I am very happy to be joining the Moses Lake and Knolls Vista families. As an educator with 13 years of classroom experience, I believe deeply in service and community,” said Jason De Lane. “From the moment I stepped into Knolls Vista, I could feel the heart and dedication of the staff and district leaders. I’m honored to serve as principal and look forward to partnering with families, students, and staff to make this a great year for every child.”
Knolls Vista Elementary serves around 300 students and is known for its strong community partnerships and family involvement. De Lane will officially begin his duties later this summer, with opportunities for families to connect with him before school begins.
