School Board Meeting Highlights - March 5, 2026

The Moses Lake School District Board of Directors met for its regular meeting on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the district board room. The meeting included recognitions, policy reviews, reports from district leadership, and opportunities for community input.
Recognizing Our School Resource Officers
The board began the evening by recognizing the important role of School Resource Officers (SROs) in Moses Lake schools. SROs work closely with students, staff, and families to support safe and welcoming learning environments. Their presence helps build strong relationships with students while providing an added layer of safety and support across district campuses. “Our SROs are far more than a law enforcement presence on campus. They are mentors. They are educators. They are trusted adults. They are relationship-builders,” said Scott West, executive director of safety and well-being. “Every day, our School Resource Officers walk into our schools not just with a badge, but with a commitment — a commitment to protect, to guide, and to build trust with the young people of our community.”
Consent Agenda Approved
The board approved the consent agenda, which included routine items such as personnel actions, accounts payable and payroll, budget status reporting, donations, expenditures exceeding $25,000, and student travel requests. These items help ensure the district’s daily operations continue running smoothly and transparently.
Among the student travel approvals were trips for Moses Lake High School FFA and SkillsUSA students, supporting career and leadership opportunities outside the classroom.
