TEACHING & LEARNING: Vanguard Academy artists recognized at NCESD regional competition

Students from Vanguard Academy recently showcased their creativity and talent at the NCESD Regional Art Competition in Wenatchee, where three students earned recognition for their outstanding work.
Among the honorees, Natalie Gutierrez earned Honorable Mention in Drawing, Zoey Johnson was awarded third place in Digital Media, and Angel Flores received Honorable Mention in Photography.
Under the guidance of art teacher Stephanie Lopez, Vanguard students prepared and submitted original pieces for the regional showcase, highlighting the creativity, skill, and dedication they continue to build through their learning experiences.
On March 31, participating students traveled to the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center to view their artwork on display alongside submissions from students across the region. During the visit, students also enjoyed a guided museum tour and presentations from museum staff, extending the learning experience beyond the classroom.
Vanguard Academy’s art students also shared their appreciation for the support that made the trip possible, including funding assistance from Ron Mayberry.
